Recommended Ranged Weapons for Early Game

MWS (Primary)

A great assault rifle you can get early in the game. It has a very high rate of fire and decent magazine size.

SMP9 (Sidearm)

A high fire rate side arm. Useful for close encounters and as a back up gun when your primary and special weapons are out of ammo.

Crossbow / Drifter Crossbow (Special)

The Crossbow and the Drifter Crossbow weapons are valuable weapons early game as it can instantly and silently kill enemies with a well placed headshot. Plus, bolts can be crafted with Cedar Saplings you find in the field.

MG45 (Special)

Features a high capacity mag which is great for taking on groups of enemies. Best used in close range.

Spiked Bat

The Spiked Bat is a craftable melee weapon, formed from a Wooden Baseball Bat and Box of Nails. It has decent durability and can take down most enemies with 2 hits.

Fire Axe

The Fire Axe is a powerful axe you can pick up early game. It can kill most enemies in 2 strikes. Can be found stuck on fire trucks.

Chicago Chopper (Primary)

The Chicago Chopper features a high fire rate and high ammo capacity which is useful for engaging huge groups, whether Marauders or Freakers. Works best at close range.

PDW (Side Arm)

The PDW Sidearm has great stats overall, and is useful for when taking on Bounty Hunter missions where you'll have to take out enemies on a bike. It has a high clip size, and low recoil.

.50 BFG (Special)

The .50 BFG is a powerful sniper rifle that is acquirable late game, and can take down most enemies in a single shot. This is a must have weapon as it's useful for taking down bosses such as the Reacher and the Rager.

RPD (Special)

A high power machine gun that can mow down multiple enemies thanks to its high capacity magazine. This is useful for taking on Hordes in the end game.

Baseball Bat Axe
